Mayor Bloomberg Looks At The Bright Side Of The Apocalypse
Posted By Admin on May 30, 2011
Its good to see that even Mayor Bloomberg is able to have a laugh about this whole end-of-the-entire-world thing were looking forward to not seeing come true tomorrow. Bloomberg discussed the Rapture and its possible effects on NYC during his weekly WOR radio appearance with host John Gambling this morning. And lets just say, this could really solve a lot of our parking woes:
- Weve heard this before in New York, that its the end of the world and we showed it wasnt true. This time, I assume will not be any different. Of course, if it does end tomorrow how would you know?
- Think about it. If the world were to end tomorrow it would fix our traffic problems.
- The world cannot end tomorrow. You know why? It cant end at least until the Knicks win a championship again. Weve got a long time to go.
- If the world ends tomorrow I dont think you have to worry about returning library books, parking tickets…
- If the world does end tomorrow alternate side parking will be suspended. Although I think alternate side parking will take on a whole different meaning, actually.
After the mayor revealed that he wont even be in NYC tomorrow (hes giving a speech in Oklahoma), Gambling got in one good joke at his expense: Youre a brave man, considering after the snowstorm, to be out of town when the world ends. Youre going to be criticized in the newspapers.
As far as we can tell, Doomsday has already started in NYC, but so far, there have been no reports of any earthquakes, nor any hellfire or brimstone raining down from the heavens, in Australia (where its already May 21)…yet…
