9 commercial spaces with panache in Phoenix

We all have memories of a building or setting that inspired us.
It might be a favorite modern or historical structure that took our breath away, a coffee shop or hotel room that made us feel a profound sense of joy or calm.
In the last of our three-part series on finding inspiration for home design, we went in search of local commercial spaces that had an impact on us.
The result is just a tiny sampling of the Valleys visually interesting places. Some inspire with their exceptional architecture, others with intriguing finishes that stick in the brain.
Cathy Hayes of Hayes Architecture/Interiors Inc. in Phoenix knows a lot about inspiring spaces. Shes behind many of the Valleys most memorable restaurant and resort interiors, from La Grande Orange and Modern Steak to the tower at Hotel Valley Ho.
Hayes strives to make her spaces memorable and says shed stop working tomorrow if she no longer could create places that ease us out of our daily routines and reconnect us with ourselves and others.
My whole basis here is I do want to create spaces that are entertaining to people but also make them feel good, positive things, and have more delight and comfort than awe or shock, Hayes said. I need to be evoking feelings out of people all the time, or Im just one more dead man walking.
From a remodeled Phoenix office building to inspiring hotels and gathering spots, here are some commercial spaces we hope will spark your imagination, too.
